Granada Hills

First stop Bakersfield Costco to top off gas.  Then to Sam’s to get a couple of things.

Easy trip over the Grapevine and down into the valley. Traffic not bad at all.  Moderate density and moving 55 mph plus.  Northbound was a different story.  Did not see cause but about Castaic all northbound lanes basically stopped.  Six lane parking lot for miles.  Well beyond junction with 210 which was also totally stopped at junction.  Going south we breezed by it all.  Did I mention it was hot.  Motorhome stuck in that would have been very uncomfortable.

Got to Granada Hills about 12:30.  Michael is staying with some friends there and we parked in front of their house.  No A/C for the carbus here.  A/C needs 30 amp service.  We put the refrigerator on propane and spent the afternoon in the house.

Out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Smile

With the help of a very good fan the carbus could be cooled to where sleeping was not uncomfortable.

Observation note:  There are a LOT of very green lawns in Southern California.  Also, Pyramid Lake, which gets its water from Northern California via the aqueduct, is FULL.  People in Southern California have no concept of drought.  It is life as usual.  Private lawns are green, parks are green, business lawns are green.  Nor-Cal is making a huge effort and So-Cal is living high.  State of Jefferson is looking better.
