Congaree National Park

Layover for a few days SW of Columbia, SC to have some work done on carbus.

A few miles SE of us is Congaree National Park.  Only one in South Carolina.  Park protects large area of old growth deciduous hardwood lowland forest. Very low key park.  Three small tent only campgrounds.  Small visitor center.  Boardwalk trail through swamp forest.  A few back country trails.  That’s it.  Also not directly accessible so light visitation.  Maybe it was the time of year.  Middle of July, temperature 85-90, humidity 98%+.  Fun to see.  No touristy stuff.  Just peace, quiet, and beauty.   Good find for us.
